Our second play of the season is On Golden Pond - by Ernest Thompson
This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer...with some wonderful one-liners from Norman you may
call it a comedy as it tickles your funny bone. But it also tugs at your heart as you see the unfolding of Norman's character with his heart palpitations, failing memory and crusty exterior begin to see that the glass is not half to almost empty. With the help of Ethel, his wife, a perfect foil who brings enrichment into their lives and their "grandson" whom their middle-aged divorced daughter, who rarely visits, leaves with them at their summer home on Golden Pond while she goes to Europe with her fiance. Ernest Thompson skillfully walks you through this family's problems as you laugh and cry and may even see some commonality to your own family.

much affection in it." - The New Yorker
